| About the Club: We are fencers from State University of New York at New Paltz. We participate in the sport of fencing recreationally and competitively. Our fencers compete regularly in divisional, regional, sectional, state and national level. We welcome fencers of all levels. It doesn't matter if you are an absolute beginner who thinks we are learning ways to keep cows in the field, or if you are preparing for your next National Championships and Junior Olympics. Our official practice is held twice a week at the Elting Gym on SUNY New Paltz campus for students, faculty and alumni. The fencing room is at the lower level (Elting 101). New Paltz fencers are a very enthusiastic group and training time is very valuable for us. You can find us practicing in small or larger groups at various locations throughout campus day and night, indoors and outdoors. If you can't wait until the next official practice, come talk to us next time you are walking back from classes and see us fencing! We also regularly visit other fencing clubs in the division to share what we have learned throughout the season. Even if your work/class schedule may conflict with the official practice hours, you will have plenty of training opportunities. |
