| About the Club: In 1984, fencing became a varsity sport at Vassar. From 1987 to 1989, Vassar won the foil title at the Middle Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association Championship while finishing third overall at the 1987 and 1989 MACFA championships. For the 1998-99 season, the Brewers began competing in the prestigious Intercollegiate Fencing Association, which includes Ivy League schools as well as current national champion St. John's. Recent standouts have qualified for NCAA regional and national championships. |

| Directions: Use NYS Thruway Exit 18 (New Paltz) and proceed east on Route 299 to the end. Turn right onto Route 9W south. Follow Route 44/55 east across the Mid–Hudson (Franklin D. Roosevelt) Bridge. Continue on 44/55 east for approximately 2 miles through the city of Poughkeepsie. Turn right onto Raymond Avenue ("To Route 376") and proceed less than 1 mile to Vassar. A Gothic stone archway, the main entrance, is on the left. Tournaments are held in the Walker Field House: From the Main Gate go straight toward Main Building. Turn right at the stop sign. Turn right at the next road. Continue down the hill, over the bridge and up the hill. Turn right after passing the field on the left. Walker Field House is the gray wood building in front. Parking available in the lot. |
